Geoffrey Bond has had a long association with the City of London, first becoming a member of a Livery Company in 1973 – The Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass – and he was the Master in 1998.  He was also the Founding Master of a new Livery Company – The Worshipful Company of Arts Scholars – in 2004.

Bond was Chairman of the City Livery Committee from 2007-10, Chairman of the Livery Culture & Heritage Group from 2008-10, and he was Sheriff of the City of London in 2003-04. He is a Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and an Honorary Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Educators; Bond was also formerly a member of the Court of the City of London Solicitors’ Company from 2006-08.

Bond created and chaired a group which put on the biggest post-war exhibition of treasures of the Livery Companies of the City of London. The exhibition entitled Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker – 850 years of London Livery Company Treasures was visited by HRH The Princess Royal and it attracted visitors from all over the world.
